Port of Salalah Registered Shipping Agents Training

Salalah 12th December 2007: On 11th and 12th December 2007 the Port of Salalah organized the first “Port Operations Basic Awareness” course for the registered shipping agents in and around the port. The first course attracted a dozen shipping agents that all left with a strong understanding of how the port and agents can work together to make a difference for the local trade.
Ahmed Ba’Omar, Harbor Master and General Manager for Harbor & Maritime Affairs said: “The course was a great success, and we worked hard with the participants on a broad range of topics such as Health & Safety; operational aspects of our Container Terminal, General Cargo Terminal, Port Control and Marine Services; commercial dealings; and financial realities. The port’s team had a lot to share, but so did the participants and we all learned a great deal about how we can work together to make a real difference in the local industry.”
